“I am excited to know that AutographMurals will provide kids of all ages with a magical, big screen view of Dinotopia that will invite them in whenever they feel like daydreaming,” says Gurney, who has won numerous awards, and whose work has been featured in a rare one-man show at the Smithsonian Institution.

Gurney’s books about Dinotopia, have sold over two million copies and were the basis for a six part miniseries that aired on ABC, and is now on DVD. Gurney began his career as a background painter for animated films and went on to create illustrations of lost civilizations for National Geographic. In his spare time, he created the paintings Waterfall City and Dinosaur Parade, which provided inspiration for Dinotopia.

“Ever since I was young, it has been my dream to create a world, complete and real in every detail. Dinotopia is the answer to that dream, and I am excited by the opportunity to translate the paintings to mural size,” says Gurney who lives in the Hudson Valley of New York with his wife, two sons, and a parakeet. QUALITY - ALL MURALS ARE NOT CREATED EQUAL

Some inexpensive murals, available elsewhere, are printed on thin paper that becomes still weaker when dampened with paste. Professional paperhangers have complained about the corners tearing off these cheap murals caused simply by the weight of the wet paper.
